Abandon - Florida long exposure photography I just absolutely love windy days! The clouds get moving across the sky and it allows the possibility of such dynamic images! I didn't even have to go swimming all that much for this photo. This spot was recommended by a friend who had happened upon it a few months back and thought I would really enjoy the pilings. And, he was right. They're old, ragged and abandoned. And, as such, photograph really well. The hardest part was trying to get as many of the birds off of them as possible in order to get the photo I wanted. (Some by scaring them and some by cloning them out in photoshop).

To give some info about this particular image: It is a long exposure of 1 minute and 20 seconds. I happened to take it an hour or two before sunset so I used a 10 stop neutral density filter to slow things down and get the shutter speed and movement I was looking for. Honestly, the hardest part of the entire image was trying to decide if I wanted to show it in color or black and white. I really loved both for different reasons. Obviously, the black and white won and the color will most likely never see the light of day. Ya'll are missing out... ;-)
